First union boss urges members to support Jeremy Corbyn’s party
These are welcome and significant comments from the president of the Bakers Union.
Trade unions are the backbone of our movement. Without them, the bosses would be able to run amok.
But unions don’t have a political voice at the moment.
The Labour Party was set up to provide political representation for the unions and the working class but that has been long forgotten. Labour now is a party of the corporations and the elite.
We’ve got an opportunity to change that. If Ian Hodson is saying it publicly then you know that others are thinking along the same lines!
If you’re in a union, use whatever levers you have to lead the discussion about who they support politically.
It shouldn’t be Labour!
