Ward End Library Moving To Clove Lea Hall? Rumour Has It…
Over the past few months whilst campaigning, many residents have asked me what funding is actually available in Ward End. After looking into it, there have been several funding streams over the years, including:
– Neighbourhood Network Scheme (NNS)
– Fairer Futures Funding
– BVSC Funding Programmes
– Warm Home Support Schemes
– Mental Health Awareness Initiatives
What stands out is that the majority of successful applications in Ward End have gone to Unity Hub via St Margaret’s Trust.
So now I’d really like to hear directly from other community organisations and local residents:
– Have you applied for funding? What was your experience?
– Did you receive any support or feedback during the process?
– If you did receive funding, what impact did it have?
– If you didn’t, what barriers did you face?
And to residents…
– Are you seeing and feeling the impact of these funds in your everyday life?
– Do the projects run by the organisations who won actually meet your needs?
With so much public investment coming into our area, it’s only fair to ask:
– Is funding being distributed fairly and transparently?
– Are there any conflicts of interest between NNS Leads, fund managers and organisations receiving funds?
– Is the wider community truly benefiting – or just a select few?
Public money should create public value.
The real return on investment is measured in the experiences, outcomes and voices of the people who live here.
I’m interested in hearing your thoughts and experiences stories.
