Bamville Road & Ward End Community Update

It’s come to light that a fraudulent petition was circulated by a local supermarket – members of the public were asked to sign a paper without knowing what it was for. This is deeply concerning, especially as Ward End has one of the highest illiteracy rates in Birmingham, and residents deserve transparency.

We also all agree that commercial trucks should not be using our residential roads. The business affected has a loading bay at the front on the main road, which is safer and should be used instead.

Residents have rejected the partial one-way proposal, calling instead for the original full one-way plan. We’re also asking for remaining ENTF funding to go towards Monk Road and for speed cushions outside the St Margaret’s Road recreation grounds to protect children and families rather than at the start as currently proposed

Sadly, our cabinet member Majid Mahmood was a no-show again, and we’re still waiting for a response on his availability.

📝 The community petition has been signed and will be submitted next week.

Thank you to everyone who attended and continues to stand up for our Ward End! ❤️
